Introducing ACCA student blogger Naresh John

Hi. My name is Naresh John. I am 23 years of age and I live in Trinidad and Tobago. I work at the Ministry of Public Administration, Public Management Consulting Division.

Accountancy has always been a favourite subject of mine. Though it was not one of my strongest subjects in the beginning, I pushed myself to ensure I excelled at it. I view accounting as using numbers to tell a story. It shows you how to see numbers beyond face value – so a change in any number can have an impact on several other figures.

After I started to excel at accounting, it became a passion of mine. I then decided to pursue my ACCA Qualification studies.  I see this qualification as one of the most highly-regarded and well-respected qualifications worldwide because it’s recognised from country to country.

Once I achieve ACCA membership I see myself contributing to the accounting profession as a whole as well as just my country. On a personal note, I would like to own my own business one day as it has always been a dream of mine. It would be ideal if I concurrently lead a large organisation to success in the future too!

    H. My name is Vanita Ganesh, I am 28 years old and live in Trinidad and Tobago. I manage my own business, I have always liked accounting from a child, I will look at my dad and cousins as they did the accounting for our family owned business and I always said to myself I will one day like to be like them, self -employed working for my own self, so said so done. I work full time in our family business which I jointly own with my dad and I am pursuing my ACCA qualification part-time. Once I achieve my ACCA membership, I will like to run my own accounting business along side our family business.
